With the concern over the H1N1 flu virus mentioned in the news, please be reminded of preventive measures your family should be using to stay healthy.  These precautions recommended by health officials should be followed.

  • Cover your mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing.
  • Discard tissues in the trash.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water frequently.Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.

This flu is spread mainly person-to-person through coughing and sneezing by infected people.  If you get sick, it is recommended that you stay home from work or school. When you call your child off sick, please give the secretary your child's symptoms.  This will assist us in identifying the number of flu cases.

Some of the precautions we are taking include but are not limited to:

  • Teachers were reminded to inform students of the precautionary procedures above.
  • Safety posters are also used as reminders.
  • The nurse will make contact with parents of sick children.
